Somewhere over the rainbow (Israel “Iz” Kamokawino ole’ version)
What brings out the best in you? Or a better question is what brings you pure joy? The type of joy that we often forget as we age and the weight of what we think we "should" be doing takes over? How did we forget to just lay in the sweet smelling grass gazing at the sky?
I was recently reminded of this as my children peacefully started singing
"somewhere over the rainbow" lying on their tummies with only pure joy in their hearts. The song speaks of daring to dream that dream you've held in your heart yet may have forgotten. Just the playfulness in the ukulele speaks to my "childish" dreams. Like any good piece of art, it inspires me to rise to the occasion and listen to my heart's unfiltered calling . Because as children we did not see limitations only pure possibilities. In order to make it a reality we have to dream.
To rise to the occasion takes courage but we also need to learn how to "play" again. To do the things that made us happy as children.
What dream have you forgotten about that still needs your attention? What impact could you have if you were not afraid to launch your bold ideas with limitless creativity?
